
The priority of Kazakhstan’s cinema industry is Integration into the world of international film business. Eurasia International film festival – as the largest film festival in Kazakhstan and in Central Asia – plays an important role in the realization of this task.
Eurasia Spotlight was founded in 2011 and is aimed at the stimulation of international cooperation. We are working closely with Eurasia International Film Festival, bringing together film professionals from around the world to connect and share their business experience in Almaty.
Mission
The main idea of our activity is to support Kazakhstan’s young talents. We promote the realization of creative plans of our filmmakers by giving them a chance to present and advance their projects on an international level, to gain additional skills at cinema platforms, and also to find partners and supporters, both within the country and abroad.
We would like to follow international trends the development of the film industry, and seek to be the vanguard of positive transformations in Kazakhstan.
Purpose
Eurasia Spotlight is a business event. Its purpose is to create a regular, mobile and effective business platform directed at integrating Kazakhstan’s film industry into the international market.
Eurasia Spotlight features pitching, presentations, panel discussions, round tables and master classes, which not only involve our participants in the course of constructive initiatives, but also serve as tools in diagnosing the condition of Kazakhstan’s cinema at large, with a measurement of its current pulse, a review of current tendencies and an assessment of the prospects for development in general.

- Attraction of leading experts of world film business to Kazakhstan;
- Integration of Kazakhstan filmmakers into the international professional community;
- Search of prospective projects and assistance for their realization;

Vision
Eurasia Spotlight is a unique platform for beginning creators, whose concepts come under the spotlight of experts of an international class. These are producers, directors, sales agents, journalists, distributors, festival selectors, critics, directors of funds and other world experts open for cooperation.
International co-production means not only a new way of development and new technical capabilities, but also new cultural and friendly relations, new movies and new audiences for the Kazakhstan film industry.
In turn, guests from the USA, France, Germany, South Korea, Russia and other countries get acquainted with the culture and opportunities of Kazakhstan, and discover a new generation of Kazakhstan’s filmmakers.
